LOOKING TO SELL YOUR PROPERTY IN 2022?
Why Boxing Day is a key day for anyone trying to sell their hone....
Boxing Day used to be a day with the family, the kids could fully check out the presents Santa had brought them a day earlier, the family would gather round the TV to watch a film while dads would fall asleep on the sofa while doing so.
Nowadays, things are quite different. On Boxing Day in most families, the girls are up early, on phones and laptops looking to grab a slot in their favourite fashion retailers online sale. Savvy buyers are queuing outside shops at 4am. It’s exactly the same for house hunters.
You see, as the last roast potato is enjoyed on Christmas Day, the country is preparing for a long hard week of consumption: eating, drinking, and being merry and surfing Rightmove, Zoopla and the other property portals.
Statistics provided by Rightmove and Zoopla have shown us that in the weeks leading up to Christmas, the number of people house hunting significantly drops, however in recent years Boxing Day has become what’s now known in the world of estate agency as as the ‘Boxing Day Bounce’. Year on year Rightmove and Zoopla have announced record traffic numbers on Boxing Day, in fact it marks the beginning a period up to 31st January where property portals receive some of their biggest number of searches for homes of the whole year!
